Jacob Gehman This is an album that gets better with age. Or, perhaps more accurately, the further we get from the mid-00s, the less tempting it is to compare it to Solace and judge it on its own criteria. The songwriting dynamics feel more akin to Extol; there is still a black metal heartbeat in The Kiss The Hope, but there's a lot of genre melding going on here--giving it a modern aesthetic compared to Solace's more traditional tone. This is an album in dire need of rediscovery. Favorite track: An Anonymous Phone-Call And A Dead Line.

Recorded in Oslo 2006 and eleased by Whirwind Records. The follow-up to the critically acclaimed "Solace". At the time of its release the norwegian black-metal scene had lost it´s edges and seemed a little watered-out and fatigue. What you´ll hear on this album is songs made totally on impuls and emotions. No trends.
It has been out of print for a while now, and it´s not easy to get hold of a physical copy. The album is now available for downoalding for the first time! Support the underground and pay more if you want to!

Brilliant, magical. Vivid soundscapes and feelings. Perfection! But, I have to admit, listening and taking a christian metal album into my collection is not something that I would normally do. This is the album that got me into Zao. I had heard Splinter, Blood, and Liberate, but they didn't really do it for me (although I did enjoy the listen). Cue the first track on this album. Within the first 30 seconds I knew I had to have it. Bought the cd within the day. This album is a whole 'nother beast. Oh, and the clean vocals? SPOT ON. TheSpyHunter
